wrapping it up

this marks my 4th year as the art teacher at the same middle school. this year my 8th grade students will graduate and move on to high school. i have taught this group of students since they were in 5th grade and am proud of their accomplishments not only in their artwork but in the development of their personalities. i will miss these kids and will never forget them, they are the reason i do this often depressing job, that and a steady paycheck and insurance (duh, that is why all artists have we can afford to make and show our artwork).

here are some pictures of 8th grade toe socks, a plate of junk food from our end of year art party and the cover of Dr. Seuss' Oh, The Places You'll Go a classic story for graduates. tomorrow at school we will open the time capsule we created at the beginning of the year. the students have completely forgotten about it, hell they forget what they posted on facebook yesterday. i can't wait to see what they put inside the capsule!
